Browse for a starting point
Open the home feed or search page and scan for a sentence, scene, or premise that gives you a clear next move.
You do not need to understand every branch first. Pick the node that makes you want to answer: what happens next, who reacts, or what changes?

Open the story path
Read the path as a sequence before writing. The earlier nodes give context, tone, and constraints for the continuation.
A continuation should feel connected to the exact node you opened, even if it takes the story in a surprising direction.

Add one useful turn
Write a focused sentence, scene, paragraph, or small idea that moves the path forward without closing every possibility.
Good branches usually introduce a concrete action, a new detail, a decision, or a question another writer can build on.

Review before posting
Check clarity, continuity, and safety. Remove private information, copied text, harassment, or content that would break the community rules.
If the node is sensitive, slow down and make sure it is fictionalized, respectful, and appropriate for collaborative reading.

Return and branch again
After posting, revisit the feed to find new branches from your path or continue another writer's idea.
Kirelay works best when each node leaves a clear handle for the next contributor.
Writing stronger fragments
A fragment does not need to be long. It needs enough shape for another person to see a possible next step.
Start with something specific
A concrete image, decision, object, line of dialogue, or small conflict gives other writers a stronger place to continue.
Leave room for the next writer
Avoid resolving the whole premise in one post. End with motion, tension, discovery, or a meaningful choice.
Respect the current path
A branch can change direction, but it should still acknowledge the character, situation, or tone of the node it follows.
Keep submissions readable
Use clean paragraphs, avoid overloading names or exposition, and make sure the next action is easy to understand.
Safety and collaboration
Keep the shared space readable, original, and respectful so branches remain easy to build on.
Do not include private data
Avoid real addresses, phone numbers, email content, account identifiers, private messages, or details that identify someone without consent.
Use original or permitted material
Do not paste copyrighted text you do not have rights to use. Build from your own words, public-domain material, or properly permitted ideas.
Report harmful content
Use report controls when a story node appears abusive, illegal, privacy-invasive, spammy, or otherwise outside the community rules.
