User Agreement (Terms of Service)

Welcome to KIRELAY, a platform for creating and reading collaborative text-based stories and branching relay threads.

These User Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Kirelay Labs. By using the service, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

• You must meet the minimum age required by your jurisdiction, and in any case be at least 13 years old.
• If under the age of majority, you may only use the service with consent of a parent or legal guardian.
• By using the service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and can enter into this agreement.

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account.
• Keep login credentials secure and do not share your account.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or appear compromised, inactive, or fraudulent.

• KIRELAY allows users to create original text posts, add relay contributions to existing stories, and browse content from others.
• Features may be added, removed, or modified at any time, and availability is not guaranteed.

• Except for user content, materials on the service are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.
• You agree not to copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or extract source code except as permitted by law.

• Do not violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Do not post content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, pornographic, violent, spam, deceptive, or fraudulent.
• Do not infringe or violate others’ privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights.
• Do not interfere with or disrupt the service, servers, or networks, or attempt unauthorized access.
• Do not use automated tools such as bots or scrapers unless explicitly allowed.
• More detailed rules may appear in the Community Guidelines.

• We may monitor user content and activity but are not obligated to do so.
• We may remove or restrict content, suspend or terminate accounts, limit creation or interactions, or take other actions at our discretion.
• Actions may be based on user reports, automated detection, or our review, and we are not responsible for delay or failure to remove content.

The service may contain links or integrations with third-party services. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Use them at your own risk and under their terms.

• The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free service, nor that content will be accurate or that defects will be corrected.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or revenues.
• Our total aggregate liability for all claims will not exceed the greater of any amount you paid in the preceding 12 months or $50 USD.
• Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us and our affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your user content, your violation of these terms or any law, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

• These terms are governed by the laws of State of California, USA without regard to conflict of law principles.
• Disputes will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in State of California, USA, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

We may update these terms and revise the “Last updated” date, with additional notice such as banners or in-app messages where appropriate.

Continued use of the service after updates means you accept the changes. If you disagree, you must stop using the service.
